I began working three-dimensionally in the early 2000s. Sewing by hand was an important part of my process, a practice instilled in me by my French Canadian roots. Textures excited me, and materials were almost always initiators. What happened when I combined beads with stones? Zippers with toy railroad tracks? If I followed the connection, the materials were often a portal to the artwork.
